Bio: She spent most of her life in a dull yet friendly town. She would daily walk to the Bakery or the Library, and be greeted by anyone standing out on the streets. She was born to one of the more prominent families, known mostly for their large amounts of money. Her mother was never cruel to her, but never regarded her with an ounce of sincere motherly love. She was brought up to go to school, marry well, and give heirs, but on the night the town was attacked that was all changed. Adeline slept in her large four post bed with the heating pan at her feet. Her mother was making her way to the master bedroom when a slow knock was heard on the door. It was a dark night and it was too late to have visitors, but she could not, in good conscience, leave them standing outside. She walked to the door and opened it to find two gentlemen standing on the doorstep. She asked if she could help them with anything, but they did not reply. They simply stood there. An uneasy feeling crept up into the pit of the mother's stomach and she invited them in while she went to get her husband. Upon the invitation the men flooded into the room and attacked her mother and made their way trough the house killing Adeline's family members. Upon walking into Adeline's room, one of the gentlemen smiled and stared at her. She had an innocent angelic look to her. She turned sleepily in her bed, unaware of the onlooker. He crept up to her slowly and embraced her instantaneously, sinking his long fangs into the soft flesh of her neck. Adeline didn't even wake from her sleep before her heart began to slow to the point of death. The man laid her back down on her bed, her frail and lifeless body held an air of utter waste and sadness. The man could not let such an innocent beauty fade away into the night, so slowly he bit into his wrist and let his blood drip into her mouth. A drop of blood fell onto her light pink lips and stood out like a crimson rose lain on snow. Her heart stopped and she died that night; To be buried and later retrieved by the man who had killed her.
He had in truth saved her, since her death brought her into a new life. Growing up she had hated living by the standards of society and propriety. She was now able to live her life how she wanted; with absolute freedom. She grew to love the man who had killed her that night, and came to know that his name was William. He was only a few years older than her, having been turned into a creature of the night himself. He gave her the name Van de Nacht, or 'of the night'. After a few hundred years, the couple continued to love each other and make their way through each day. Until a night the couple had been out feeding. They were spotted by a group of townspeople and were chased into the dark forest. William stopped to fight off the people in hopes that Adeline would be able to escape.
Much to Adeline's horror, William was killed by the group of people and was forced to run into hiding. She now spends the rest of her life in a hollow shell of an appearance, taking food when she can, and trusting or loving no one. The pain of her loss was too great to ever have to experience in a short lifetime, much less an eternity.
