Character description
Natalia glares at you through a curtain of royal blue hair, intelligent brown eyes boring into yours as she assesses you. Feeling trapped, you take a step backwards only to find that you are surrounded by a circle of stray cats. With a shiver, you realise that every single cat bears the same scar across its face. Even more chilling - their eyes glow red; these felines are not mortal.
Turning back, you find that the vampiress has not moved. Dressed all in black, in the darkness of the alley she appears to be nothing more than a shadow. Her pale arms are crossed in front of her chest, tattoo'd with symbols you've never seen before. Is it a trick of the dark or do they seem to slither and change shape?
The right arm snakes out and grasps hold of the staff leaning against the wall next to her. Runes have been carved all down its length; this is the only indication that it is anything more than an ordinary length of wood. However, you have heard rumours of its sinister power. It is said that a Native American spirit was trapped in the staff many years ago and forced to do Natalia's bidding until her death releases it from its servitude.
Paralysed by her gaze like a fly caught in a spider's web, you stand motionless as she walks towards you, swaying her hips seductively. Something furry brushes against the back of your leg; the cats are drawing closer, tightening the circle. A background noise that you barely noticed before reaches a crescendo. After a moment's confusion you realise that they are purring together as if in song.
She is close enough now for you to smell her scent; the sweetness of rotting flesh mingled with the dried blood that stains her leather coat. One long black fingernail runs down your cheek, leaving a thin trail of blood. Lips painted purple brush past your ear as she whispers your name.
