Vampire [I] Dracik
Character description
Born to priveledge, Dracik saw loss at an early age. Gifted, (or cursed, he could never decide), by past life knowledge and The Sight he grew up protected until, at 15, his family saw misfortune at the hands of an evil ruler.
Forced to cut short his education he worked on the family estate. Hard physical work that hardened his body and taught him how to accept the gifts and insights Nature herself offered. Taught him to manage livestock and kill only when necessary, with compassion, but with resolve.
The year's cycles rolled and circumstances changed. He resumed his education and around him gathered friends and took lovers who were enthralled by his world view. Who would follow him where he lead.
However, he turned his back on Destiny when 'love' beckoned. He foresook his path, and his followers, to take the pastoral way that he had yearned for for so, so many lives of death and horror.
But it was all a lie. He was betrayed by false words, broken promises. Trapped by love for his children he was ground down and diminished. Despair and darkness enveloped him as all he had worked for, all he had dreamed was taken and squandered by one who preyed on his very soul, sucking him dry as no Vampyre could ever do.
Destroyed, slice by cruel slice, by a woman who's peasant family walked Slavic forests. A family where all the men had a single, wide eyebrow. Men who were always 'asleep' when the dogs of the village would howl and bark from full moon rise to full moon set.
Taken by Kayana, his choice was thus ordained. Bitterness and thirst for vengence drove him and the light she offered gave him hope and strength. He had two children he loved and needed to provide for, to protect and to teach so that they would never be treated as him. She offered hope that he could do this and give them the choice of inheritance.
He chose to walk with Kayana.
Slaughtering the Vermin and building strength, power and wealth, he avoids the friendship of most, not risking hope or trust, for this was how he was almost destroyed.
He still has many of his old friends and followers. People who always believed in him and who were there for him still, when he chose to see them and accept their love. Many believe he has again taken up his true path and vow to stand with him and his Sire when they condescend to allow them to.
Thus Dracik's path continues to unfold in this fresh twist of life, continuing the road his soul started on many, many Eons ago...
